Astounding architecture of the Palace of Westminster
where Parliament is housed. Portions of the palace
date back to the 11th century.

The clock tower at the end north end of the Palace of Westminster.
The bell of the clock is widely recognised as Big Ben.
At the outset of my semester-long journey in London, the voice that comes over the intercom of the train gives me my new mantra . . . "mind the gap." The quaint phrase offers a reminder to watch your step as you exit the train and onto the platform. But for me it resounds as a souvenir of the new experiences to come as I embark on my adventures abroad; minding the gap between the cultural differences that I come to recognise.

"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference."

--Robert Frost, The Road Not Taken
